Happy Thanksgiving
We would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!
As you can see, we managed to get out of the house with Charlotte just in time for a sunset walk on the beach here in Alameda. After a proper Thanksgiving feast we had to walk off our turkey and stuffing, of course. This year we have so much to be thankful for :)
Thanksgiving is Gordon's favorite holiday and true to form he made the most of it, whipping together the delicious meal that you see above. Turkey with stuffing, butternut squash with apples and cranberries, green beans with fried onions, fresh cranberry sauce, and gravy to cover it all. For dessert Nola baked a superb pecan and hazelnut bourbon pie, topped with Tucker's pumpkin ice cream. The three of us were stuffed by the end!
Charlotte continues to grow and it feels like she gets bigger by the day. We're looking forward to taking her out more now that she's officially a month old. Look for us pushing her around Alameda in a bright yellow stroller :)

Going Home
After nine days in the NICU we finally went home today. We're so thankful to the doctors and nurses - everyone, really - at Alta Bates Hospital for taking such amazing care of our precious daughter... and us too! We've learned a ton about being parents and taking care of a baby from our NICU nurses so bringing Charlotte home feels right. Nice to know we wont have that "Now what?" moment so many new parents experience.
Thanks to our family and friends for all the support over the past week plus. Nothing ever happens exactly to plan, especially for us, but having Charlotte 5 weeks early was a surprise to say the least. A wonderful, amazing surprise at that too!
We'll keep posting more photos here on the blog so you can watch her grow with us. In the meanwhile, enjoy the photos below the fold!
