Announcing the arrival of Charlotte Yong-Xuan Barr!
Born October 29 at 5:14 pm, she measured 18.5 inches and weighed in at 5 pounds 12 ounces. Nola was a baby pushing champion and Gordon was dubbed an honorary nurse for assisting with the delivery. Our little Halloween surprise was born just shy of 35 weeks, so after a brief visit with Mom she was whisked away to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with Dad in tow.
We spent the next two days in the hospital while Nola recovered and made routine trips down the hall to the NICU for visits with Charlotte. She proved to be a sleepy little girl, feeding infrequently between prolonged sleep sessions. Thankfully Charlotte was in an open crib so we had lots of time for bonding during the first 48 hours.
